Qterra
Capital Management offers a unique and proprietary investment style geared towards socially conscious individuals who wish
to invest in the US markets but demand the same level of sophisticated investment analysis and quantitative modeling used
by institutions.
The process starts with a universe of 5000 publicly traded stocks.
Stocks in sectors and industries
which have been identified by the Shari’ah Supervisory Board (applies only to the Halal portfolio) are eliminated.
Next,
companies with unacceptable levels of debt or impure interest income according to financial ratio filters set up by the Shari’ah
Supervisory Board (applies only to the Halal porfolio) are removed.
Companies passing the screen are then input into
the Qterra proprietary valuation model to identify undervalued stocks. This narrows the field from 5000 to a small manageable
subset of ~50 stocks.
These stocks are combined with Exchange Traded Funds (ETF's) or Mutual Funds representing markets/countries
which are deemed to be acceptable by the Shari'ah Supervisory Board (applies only to the Halal portfolio), in order to further
diversify the portfolio.
